Cynthia Hervatic, DVM

Staff Doctor
Veterinary Medical & Surgical Group
Ventura, CA

The Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group (VMSG) is a veterinary medical specialty center, specifically designed to enhance and strengthen the care provided by regular veterinarians. VMSG is staffed with the highest nurse-to-patient ratio possible, and boasts board-certified specialists, highly qualified intern doctors, and accomplished paraprofessionals. The expertise and knowledge of their staff, combined with the cutting-edge technology in place at VMSG, provides specialty care unsurpassed in quality or service.

Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group is home to a highly competitive post-graduate internship training program, certified by the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). VMSG admits only ten veterinarians who have graduated at the top of their respective Veterinary Schools. Cynthia is one of these ten. These Intern Doctors apply and are placed though the facility working in intimate association with our staff specialists. These highly competent doctors provide 24 hour critical care to all hospitalized patients and are never more than a cell phone call away from a staff specialist.

Dr. Cynthia Hervatic is the daughter of Joe "Cy" and Pam Hervatic. She graduated from Wake Forest University with a BA in English. She was a news producer at MSNBC when she decided to pursue her passion. Dr. Hervatic completed her prerequisites for veterinary school at UCLA before attending Western University of Health Sciences. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, drinking fine wine, and exercising – so she can cook some more! She lives with her dog Ruby and cat Henry. Ruby is an avid squirrel hunter, while Henry prefers chasing bugs. Both sleep the days away when their mom is caring for other animals.

Dr. Hervatic plans to stay in southern California after her internship at VMSG. She would like to join a small animal general veterinary practice and eventually own her own hospital.
