1 John recently had a stent implanted. For you healthier types who might not know, a stent is a wire mesh tube used to prop open an artery that's recently been cleared using angioplasty. The stent is collapsed to a small diameter and put over a balloon catheter. It's then moved into the area of the blockage in the heart. When the balloon is inflated, the stent expands, locks in place and forms a scaffold. This holds the artery open. The stent stays in the artery permanently, holds it open, improves blood flow to the heart muscle and relieves symptoms (usually chest pain). John has been offered a full membership into the Stent Club, L-P, Class of 1953.
Web Master's question: John. while I was summarizing why you needed a stent, I could not help but notice that your side of the raft is very low in the water. Why is that? ~:-)
Web Master's comment. John, I noticed that you have released your paddle with the right hand, and are clinging dearly to the rail-rope.
